I think I stopped having this dream sometime when I was a postdoc. Or maybe I didn't shake free till I got a real job... Mine was always a language class, so everyone was jabbering away in Spanish or something, just to magnify the horror.

Topics: Fun
Quintessence of Dust explores issues of science and Christian faith, focusing on genetics, development, evolution, neuroscience, and related topics, regularly discussing intelligent design, creationism, and other scientific issues that worry evangelical Christians. My main theme is scientific explanation.
In regular posts ("Journal Clubs"), I discuss a recent article in the scientific literature. Additional topics: theology,
philosophy, baseball and Shakespeare. For basics on my perspectives, see my post on common descent and explanation. My very first post has a little more detail about the blog, and my second one explains the name.
Check out Clashing Culture, where I blog with three partners (so far). The subtitle says it all: "Conversations about science and faith." Anastasia is an agnostic of sorts, Thomas and I are Christians, and Mike is an atheist. We all like each other, and seek to engage interesting and difficult questions at the interface of science and belief, from our divergent points of view. We're looking for more partners, especially those who can increase our ideological diversity. Check out the conversation, and/or visit the superb blogs of the individual participants:
