However, in the meantime, here are a few thoughts:<br /><br />1. Like you I am very frustrated with the quality of the science and the distortion of the data which characterizes the work of some of the co-sponsors of the meeting. However, unlike you, I am not convinced that it is done on purpose—that these individuals are purposely dishonest. Through face-to-face behind the scenes meetings, I think these fellow believers are sincere—wrong, very wrong, but sincere.<br /><br />2. I am aware that not all members of D.I. are professing Christians. However, those who will be attending this meeting are. I want to talk with them.<br /><br />3. I totally agree that unity is not an end in itself, but following Jesus is, and the love which surrounds this experience is a pretty strong cohesive force.<br /><br />The basis of our difference (yours and mine) is that you are convinced they are dishonest. If you are right about this and I could share your conviction, I would totally support everything you said here.
